Pre-Migration Audit

Inventory everything before you touch a single setting

List every ClickFunnels funnel URL and its current monthly traffic

Export from CF dashboard → Funnels. Note which funnels are live vs paused.

Document all active CF order forms and OTO/downsell steps

Each step that processes payments needs a GHL equivalent before go-live.

Screenshot or export all current email automation sequences

CF follow-up funnels need to be recreated in GHL workflows.

Export your ClickFunnels contact list (CSV)

Settings → Contacts → Export. Import to GHL before cutover.

List all third-party integrations (Stripe, Zapier, Calendly, etc.)

Each integration will need to be rewired to GHL native features or reconnected.

Note your current domain setup (custom domain vs CF subdomain)

Custom domains need DNS changes at go-live. Budget 15-60 min for propagation.

Identify which funnels have active Facebook/Google ad traffic

These need pixel parity testing before you cut DNS - ad data continuity depends on it.

GHL Account Setup

Configure your GHL sub-account before building anything

Create or verify your GHL sub-account and time zone setting

Wrong time zone = broken scheduling in automations and calendars.

Connect your domain in GHL (Settings → Domains)

Don't point DNS yet - just register the domain so pages can be assigned to it.

Connect Stripe (or your payment processor) in Payments settings

Run a $1 test transaction to confirm the connection before rebuilding order forms.

Set up your sending email domain (LC Email or SMTP)

Add SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. GHL will guide you through each step.

Import your ClickFunnels contact CSV into GHL

Contacts → Import. Map CF fields to GHL custom fields carefully.

Install Google Tag Manager container on GHL pages

Funnel settings → Header tracking code. One GTM snippet covers all pages in the funnel.

Add Facebook Pixel (and CAPI token) to GTM or GHL settings

CAPI = Conversions API. Significantly improves attribution in a post-iOS14 world.

Funnel Rebuild

Recreate pages, forms, and order flows in GHL

Match headline, hero image, form fields, and CTA button copy exactly.

Recreate order forms with the same product/price structure

GHL products → create matching SKUs, prices, and bump offers.

Build OTO (one-time offer) and downsell pages

GHL supports multi-step funnels natively. Wire upsell/downsell paths in Funnel Steps.

Recreate thank-you pages with correct redirect logic

Thank-you page URLs often appear in ad conversion events - keep them identical if possible.

Rebuild email sequences as GHL Workflows

Map each CF follow-up step to a GHL Wait → Send Email action block.

Set up pipeline stages matching your CF funnel stages

GHL CRM Pipelines give you visual deal tracking that CF lacks entirely.

Recreate any membership area content (if applicable)

GHL Memberships supports drip content, categories, and video hosting.

Set up calendar/booking if CF had Calendly integrations

GHL Calendars replaces Calendly. Reconnect any ad or email links.

Assign rebuilt funnels to your domain in GHL settings

Funnel → Settings → Domain. Don't publish yet - wait for testing phase.

Tracking & Pixel Parity

Verify every conversion event fires correctly before DNS cutover

Confirm GA4 pageview fires on every rebuilt GHL page

Use GA4 DebugView in real-time mode while clicking through the funnel.

Verify form submit event fires in GA4 on opt-in and contact pages

GA4 event name: "generate_lead" or custom event - match your existing attribution model.

Confirm Facebook Pixel PageView + Lead events fire in Meta Events Manager

Use Meta Pixel Helper Chrome extension to spot missing events.

Verify purchase event fires on thank-you page after a test order

Run a $0 or $1 test product through the full order flow. Check both GA4 and Meta.

Test Conversions API (CAPI) deduplication is configured

CAPI + Pixel firing together requires event_id deduplication to avoid double-counting.

Confirm GTM triggers and tags are published (not in preview)

Preview mode tags won't fire for real visitors. Submit and publish before go-live.

Pre-Launch Testing

Walk every path a real customer would take

Use a Gmail or Outlook test address - not your own domain address.

Test mobile layout on iOS Safari and Android Chrome

GHL page builder mobile preview is not always accurate - test on real devices.

Check page load speed with Google PageSpeed Insights

Target 75+ mobile score. Compress hero images and remove unused scripts.

Verify all internal links and button destinations are correct

Especially OTO "Yes" / "No" paths and any cross-funnel links.

Run a Loom walkthrough of the full funnel and share with team for sign-off

Stakeholder review before DNS cut catches issues that solo testing misses.

Go-Live & Post-Launch

Cut DNS, monitor closely, archive ClickFunnels

Update DNS CNAME/A records to point domain to GHL

Do this during low-traffic hours. Full propagation takes 15 min - 24 hrs.

Set up 301 redirects for any ClickFunnels-specific URLs in ad campaigns

Old CF share funnel URLs will break after cancellation - update ad destination URLs.

Monitor GA4 real-time report for 30 minutes post-cutover

Watch for traffic drop, bounce spikes, or missing conversion events.

Pause ClickFunnels (don't cancel yet) for a 2-week observation period

Keep CF live as a rollback option while GHL traffic stabilizes.

Compare GHL conversion rates vs pre-migration CF baseline (week 1 vs week 2)

Conversion dip in week 1 is normal (new page, no social proof yet).

Cancel ClickFunnels subscription after 30 days of stable GHL performance

Download any remaining assets (images, videos) from CF before cancelling.
