Privacy Policy

Plain-English overview of how we collect and use information. Your privacy matters to us.

Last updated: October 8, 2025

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up or book a call, we collect your name, email address, company name, phone number, and billing details needed to provide our services.

Client Data

In the course of delivering marketing automation services, you may provide us access to customer lists, CRM records, campaign content, and other business data. We process this data strictly on your behalf.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our site and services, including:

  • Pages visited, links clicked, and time on page
  • Browser type, device, operating system, and IP address
  • Referring URL and search terms

Communications

When you email us, submit a form, or chat with our team, we retain the content of those communications to provide support and improve our services.

2. How We Use Information

  • Deliver services -- set up automations, build funnels, manage campaigns, and provide ongoing support as described in your service agreement.
  • Operate communications -- send transactional emails (invoices, onboarding, status updates) and respond to your inquiries.
  • Billing -- process payments, issue invoices, and manage your subscription.
  • Security -- detect fraud, prevent abuse, and protect the integrity of our systems.
  • Marketing (with consent) -- with your opt-in, send newsletters, product updates, and educational content. You can unsubscribe at any time.

3. How We Share Information

Service Vendors

We share data with trusted vendors who help us operate -- for example, payment processors (Stripe), email providers, hosting services, and analytics tools. Each vendor is contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable government request.

Business Transfers

If ATJ is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

4. Your Choices & Rights

Access, Update, or Delete

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting privacy@automatethejourney.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Opt Out

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message, or by emailing us. Transactional messages (billing, security alerts) are not optional while your account is active.

Client Data Controller

If you are a client, you are the data controller for the personal data of your customers that we process on your behalf. You determine what data is collected and how it is used. We act as your data processor and follow your instructions.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward (typically 12 months) to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Client data processed on your behalf is retained according to your service agreement. Upon cancellation, you may request a data export. We delete client data from active systems within 60 days of account closure unless a longer retention is required by law.

6. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest
  • Access controls and least-privilege permissions
  • Regular security reviews and monitoring

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. For more details on our security practices, visit the Trust Center.

7. International Users

ATJ is based in the United States. If you access our services from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using our services, you consent to this transfer. If you require specific data transfer mechanisms (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses), please contact us.

8. Children

Our services are not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
